How to Request Data Deletion
1. Delete Your Account In-App
The fastest way to delete your data is directly through the RecordZen app:
- Open the RecordZen app
- Go to Settings > Account Settings
- Scroll down to "Delete Account"
- Follow the prompts to confirm deletion
- Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted
2. Email Data Deletion Request
If you cannot access your account or prefer to submit a request via email:

Subject Line: Data Deletion Request
Please include:
- Your full name
- Email address associated with your account
- Reason for deletion (optional)
- Confirmation that you want all your data permanently deleted
What Data Will Be Deleted?
When you request data deletion, we will permanently delete:
- Account Information: Your email, profile details, and authentication credentials
- Video Content: All video recordings and associated metadata
- User Preferences: App settings, preferences, and customizations
- Usage Data: Analytics, logs, and activity history
- Payment Information: Subscription and billing records (subject to legal retention requirements)
Processing Timeline
- In-App Deletion: Immediate (data removed within 24 hours)
- Email Request: We will respond within 48 hours and complete deletion within 30 days
- Backup Systems: Data in backup systems will be removed during the next backup cycle (maximum 90 days)
Important Notes
- Permanent Action: Data deletion is irreversible. Once deleted, we cannot recover your account or content.
- Legal Obligations: Some data may be retained for legal, regulatory, or security purposes (e.g., transaction records for tax compliance).
- Active Subscriptions: Please cancel any active subscriptions before deleting your account to avoid future charges.
Data Retention Exceptions
In certain circumstances, we may retain some data even after a deletion request:
- Financial records required by tax laws (typically 7 years)
- Legal hold or pending litigation
- Fraud prevention and security purposes
- Aggregated, anonymized data used for analytics (cannot identify you)
